The installer of the compiler also installs HEW (High-Performance Embedded Workshop), Manual Navigator and the manuals. The easiest way is to look in your Windows Start Menue for the Manual Navigator (in renesas High-Performance Embedded Workshop). The little bit more difficult way is to look on your HDD in the directory HEW\Manuals\Renesas\PDFs\. The manuals are difficult to identify here. The name should be eh8cum... Section D and R belong together. One holds the initialised data, the other the initialisation values for this data. In the linker options you will find an option "-rom=D=R". It says contents of D is copied to R. Section S is used for stack area. BR Frank
