Hi Frank I just wanted to offer my thanks to your excellent support which has enabled me to load the Firmware and also the application to my data logger which is now working. This is inspite of not being able to change the clock speed as I didn't have the compiler. I contacted IAR and they offered me the correct version that they had "dug out of their archive" for £3.5K for a single seat license. I decided not to go for this due to my limited budget and the thought that if I managed to get the current system running OK I may seek a later chip to replace the H8S2357 without to much rearranging of the PCB architecture and re-writing of the firmware - any advice on this would be welcome. This would enable me to use (I think) the FDT4 to recompile the sources to be able to prepare an image file that would use current technology etc. Am I under estimating the problems - I did say I don't have much of a clue about software and electronics!
