Hi Calvin, Thank you for your answer. Maybe in your eyes, my question is at this moment not opportune. But since we now "have" to deal with an RTOS (when you want to use all these fancy SW for ethernet, SD-cards, etc), I want to have the idea that within the team of Synergy this question arises at some point. When I start developing an application now, I for sure will start with the RTOS since this gives me the pleasure of getting a lot of software for almost free. It is even my number one reason to use Synergy as the platform. Without it, I would use my "old' RX62 and RX63 with uiP, my own written bootloader, and my own written filesystem. As far as I know now, there is no special bootsegment so probably, we will end up with a bootloader that probably always starts when firing up the uP. At that point, when using a filesystem of the RTOS, we have to deal with a FAT32 (I guess) so my bootloader must contain the same thing... So a big part of the bootloader will be searching for a file wit a new application and look for a signature, CRC, version etc. so that the bootloader van decide if the appllication within the filesystem is newer then the one in flash, etc., etc.. So to keep it short, what may we expect in this area from Renesas / the Synergy team. Are there any plans in developing such a bootloader. Or do you have other / better ideas for this?
